The Hipster Apple

Thru the eyes of a pair of hipster glasses.

Studying for finals can be such a pain especially during the times when the more you read, the more you forgot. Or in the exam hall, you wrote one full page of relevant answers but in return, you got very little marks for that.

Happy Independence Day Malaysia! :) I have always liked public holidays and even though it falls on a Saturday, I still love it simply because there will be lesser traffic on the road and you can go to places that you avoid going during working days. Oh, not to mention that this pair of hipster glasses is currently my fav. Bid it from eBay two weeks ago at dirt cheap price. It costs only USD1.25. Guess it's time to get back to work. One more week. :(

de Tuesday

Monday was blue, Tuesday was good and Wednesday can never be better. I just realized that I had so much debt to repay. So many birthday/farewell celebrations and I guessed I spent quite a lot this month.  It is time for me to find a side income job before my bank account shows me negative figures. T_T

On the other hand, my open sleeve chiffon shirt is finally here! :)  I first saw it at Frumoste on Insta but black was out of stock. Frumoste is one of my bookmarked online boutique store because it sells trendy clothes and stylish accessories. You can also follow them on Instagram for more daily updates. I was lucky enough to find the same shirt on eBay but because it is a free shipping item, it takes longer to ship to Malaysia. I have always liked chiffon shirts because the weather in KL is very humid and hot. On the plus side, I guess it will match well with my red skater skirt but as my skater skirt is still somewhere above the sky (on the way too! I hope), I matched it with my denim leggings.

It was dad's birthday yesterday, me and Mark brought him to the Library. It has been quite a while since I last went there and because birthday dinners are too mainstream, we thought of going to happy hour. This time, we tried the K1664 Lager. Personally, I think it tasted slightly bitter and I would probably stick back to Hoegaarden next time.

de awesome dad and his first time at the Library. Happy birthday daddy! <3

With the jakun brother. :)

CNBLUE Fan Meeting @ The Gardens

Again, it is the favourite day of the week! It was a drizzling morning and the weather was so freaky cold so I thought I should probably just wear a simple red sweatshirt and a pair of dark blue jeans to uni. Seriously, it was so cold and I thought I might freeze immediately if I stepped out of the house.

While we were in the computer lab killing time, Steph was scrolling through her news feeds on Facebook and found out that CNBLUE is coming to The Gardens to advertise the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S4. The fan meeting will be held at 1.30pm at the Samsung Retail Store. It is a sudden event and since our next class will only begins on 2.30pm (that is 3 hours later), we thought of trying our luck and see if we can meet them in person. It's CNBLUE ftw! Steph and I are both huge fans of CNBLUE's lead singer, Jung Yong-Hwa. Plus, we can actually spam their songs all day and not getting tired of it.

Just so you know, CNBLUE is a korean rock band consists of consists of Jung Yong-hwa (lead vocalist)Lee Jong-hyun (lead guitarist)Lee Jung Shin (bassist) and Kang Min-hyuk (drummer). The band made their first debut in 2010 and I'm A Loner was a hit back then. Eventually, they released a few more albums each year and most of the hits are addictive! :)

Basically, I sent a some-sort-of-emergency-text to Kess asking him if I can borrow his digital camera. Ya know, it is not possible to be a stalker fangirl without a digital camera or DSLR with decent number of megapixels. Korean stars are never early. We waited for almost 1.5 hour and finally, CNBLUE shown up! Honestly, why are these boys so good looking and so talented at the same time? On the other hand, I have no idea why but most of the artists who came for concerts or promos in Malaysia would say:"I Love You, Malaysia!" and all the fans will go crazy and scream at the top of their voices. That's so mainstream isn't it but nah...

Hugging the huggable plush on a lazy Friday morning. Introducing Oswald - my punching bag. :)

Waiting for something/someone can never make it to the top of my list but CNBLUE will probably be in Malaysia for only once so it was worth waiting i guess. :)

CNBLUE in the house! From left: Jung Shin, Jong-Hyun, Yong-Hwa and Min-Hyuk

All the pictures during the fan meeting was taken using this elegant babe over here. Panasonic Lumix GF3. :)

Be The Song

If you simply ignored the feeling, you would never know what might happen, and in many ways that was worse than finding out in the first place. Because if you were wrong, you could go forward in your life without ever looking back over your shoulder and wondering what might have been.

18 more days till finals. 6 subjects in two weeks and I'm so not ready. Sometimes, I wonder why things are getting out of hand. I used to have everything well planned and organised but at one point, things  got out of hand. It feels as if I just fell into a supermassive black hole from which the gravity prevents anything from escaping.

Heck. After 16 years of education, I am still not able to get rid of testophobia.

The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Butter

Ahhhoooyyy! Uni is supposed to be chillax and fun but I wonder why is my uni the different one. I have work piling up and presentations slides to prepare. Anyway, that's not the main thing for today. :)

Few weeks ago, Mei went to UK and bought The Body Shop's Cocoa Butter Body Butter because the weather there was dry and she needed some lotion to keep her skin hydrated. Yeah I know, the name of the body butter itself is a bit funny. So she gave it to me when she came home cause the weather in KL is kinda humid. Apparently, I tried it a few nights ago and I like it instantly!

The Cocoa Butter Body Butter is a super-rich and creamy body butter that contains ground rice and almond shell powder. It is perfect to revive dry skin as it hydrates intensely into the skin, leaving the skin soft and smooth. Moreover, it will also keep normal skin deeply moisturised and shining.

If you are a cocoa mania like me, you will definitely fall for this product because it has a sweet cocoa scent that smells good enough to eat. It works even better right after a shower.

The body butter itself is amazing and it actually comes with a whole set with the other products like moisturiser, body wash and even lip-care stick. For such soothing body butter, it costs only RM63. Try it out for yourself and catch this highly recommended Cocoa Butter skincare range at or from any other Body Shop outlets. :)

Adobe Photoshop CC 14.0

Photo editing software is a necessity tool for all photography lovers. Before Mark gave me his hand-me-down Macbook Pro, he installed Aperture. Aperture is an easy-to-use tool that allows you to store your edited pictures but the software tends to lag each time I open it. Probably it is because I am using a 5-year-old Mac that is beginning to errrmmm... slow down. -,- Hence, I thought of searching for a new photo editing software that is easily used.

I Googled and I found Gimp, Picasa, PhotoFiltre... and Adobe Photoshop. Apparently, Adobe Photoshop is a photoshop family that comprises of Photoshop CC, Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop Element 11. Since all softwares are on 30 days of free trial, I tried on Photoshop CC 14.0.

The interface of the software. All the usual functions are located at the toolbar on the left. The lighting adjustments are on the right.

As I am not an advance user, I think that the software is pretty fast and easy to use. Usually, I only use it to adjust the lightings and some other minor adjustments. I am a newbie and I guess it takes time for me to master all the functions but by the time I learnt of all the functions, the trial version is probably expired and I will have to purchase the full version.

If you are searching for an easy to use photo editing software, you can check it out at the Adobe Photoshop family website:

KLIA: John's Farewell Flight

Airport never made it to my list of favourite places. I hate sending people off and thinking that I would have to wait for a very long time before I can see them again. Like duh, anyone in his right mind would not want to be in the hall, bid their farewells and send their family/friend to the departure gate. Oh well, I guess everything has an exception.

I have no idea why but the ride to KLIA was pretty different this time. Probably because I watched too much of Triumph In The Skies 2 (Jayden Cool ftw!). So, Khai drove us to KLIA to surprise John and he sped up to 180km/h and it was indeed, an awesome ride! With Khai's awesome speeding skills, an hour ride to KLIA had shorten to only 40 minutes. While waiting for John, we walked down a quiet corridor and along the corridor, you can look down and see people passing through the scanners. At the end of the corridor is a huge place for people to look at planes and runways and as a matter of fact, the view is pleasant.

All this while, I thought that sending people off is a sad thing and that is why I will avoid going to the airport if I can but this time, I got it wrong. It can be happy too. :)

Road Trip to Seremban and PD

Last Saturday after the usual badminton session, Fiona asked if we would like to tag along and go on a spontaneous road trip to Port Dickson. As a city girl, I don't go to beaches that often and so it is definitely a good way to have a long walk on the beach and just clear my mind (assignments are indeed, silent killers)

While on the way to PD, we stopped by at Seremban Seafood Village for lunch. The town is pretty packed as Hari Raya is just around the corner. Introducing the buttered mantis shrimp. Apparently, people known this as he ko in Hokkien.

The famous baked crabs in Seremban town and if you are a seafood lover, it is a must try! The crabs are fresh and instead of having the usual sweet sour/spicy/tom yam crab, this is something different. :)

Blue Lagoon. I was surprised to see such blue sea! This is because I was in PD few years ago and the sea was the colour of tea tarik.

With Fiona. :)

One buddy is missing in action. >_>

The three monkey boys who are buddies since primary and for almost 20 years.

Next destination is the famous landmark: Cape Rachado Lighthouse (Rumah Api)

The road to the lighthouse is very steep and it is more like jungle trekking. I was out of breath by the time I saw this lighthouse. The Cape Rachado Lighthouse is believed to be the oldest in Malaysia, dating back to Portuguese rule of Malacca.

The view at the sunset is worth the climb.

Before dinner, we passed by this beach and all of us just sat on the beach while looking at the egg yolk

This is a pretty random shot but if you see clearly, there is a faint view of the setting sun (a pink dot) at the back.

Before heading back to KL, we had our dinner at Lucky King Bun, Lukut that is famous for its chicken curry bun. Personally, I think it tasted okay but not as good as I expected.
