Ichiban Boshi@Pavilion, KL

As a Chinese, reunion dinner is the time for everyone to sit together, have a decent meal and catching up. Ever since I work, I hardly have time to dine with de family (all thanks to KL's massive jam). So for this year's reunion, mum asked me and Mark to pick a place that we both like. We made a few calls to TGI Friday's, Hokkaido Ichiba, The Ship... but these places are either fully booked or closed during the Eve. In the end, Xueni suggested to me that I should try Ichiban Boshi because she knows that I am a Japanese food lover.

Ichiban Boshi is one of Singapore's leading sushi belt restaurants established since 1988. Usually, I have the perception that Japanese restaurants in Pavilion must be expensive because of the high-end location but when I looked at the menu, I was pretty surprised that the prices are quite similar to Sushi Zanmai and Hokkaido Ichiba, Gardens. The place is located at the 1st floor, next to Tony Roma's.

The appertiser: tuna salad. *two thumbs up!* The dressing is very Japanese and I loved it.

Shashimi Mori Hama: assorted raw fish. The fresh raw fish are thinly sliced and they mixed perfectly well with the dipping sauce of soy sauce and wasabi.

The main course of my premium meal: Tori Maru Cheese Gozen. The chicken and assorted mushrooms are topped with cheese that gives them a cheesy and salty kinda taste. If you are a cheese lover like me, this is a must try. :) The premium meal comes with chawanmushi, misu soup, rice, appertiser and fruits. My camera wasn't wide enough to capture the set. :(

Unagi Kabayaki. The sweet and salty sauce blends perfectly well with the unagi. I am not a big fan of unagi but this dish is one of my favourites. Unagi Kabayaki and a bowl of rice, simply heaven.

Nothing beats a perfect cup of coffee. If a caffeine rehab exists in KL, I guessed  I would be in their wanted list. Ended the Eve with a cuppa Dome's Vienna.

I am so lazy to write another post so I will squeeze everything into one post. On Wednesday, I spent the whole evening making these chocolate cornflakes! Mark says that I can open a shop and start selling them.

Oh well, it is not everyday you get compliments from the fussy brother eh. :)

Me and the happy looking (I assume) chocolate cornflakes.

It is nin chor yat! I just saw fireworks and firecrackers everywhere while on my way home. Happeh Chinese New Year folks!

Chili's With The Favourite People

Dinner with the ty4 is one of the things that I am always looking forward to. It is not easy to have a complete-sort-of-gathering (14 humans!) but since 9 of us showed up so I guessed it is not too bad eh? :)

Malaysians like me are too punctual dy. *winks** I had been flipping and staring at the menu for dozens of times while waiting for Beh and JC.

The all time favourite nacho's with fajita chicken! Definitely one of the best appertiser from Chili's.

Country fried chicken! The portion is wayyyyy to big and I doubt that any normal human beings can finish this plate of main course in one go. The chicken is covered with mushroom gravy and seriously, this is one of the best mashed potatoes I have eaten.

What is there not to love? Catching up session with the favourite people again. :)

Guessed my week is not that bad after all. Just came back from Langkawi and I have tonnes of work piling up again. It feels good to be busy and forget that reality is starting to kick in after mid February. Stupid allergy, get off me and give me back my pretty legs. Urgh. I wonder which bug was the evil one that stung me. :(

It's TGIF tomorrow!

Tous Les Jours @ WOLO Bukit Bintang

Happpehhh 2014! I know I am a little bit behind when everyone had already started on their 2014 wishlists. Every year, I will be setting the same resolution: to stay alive because what's more important than to stay alive and enjoy what God gives you? :) So today, I am gonna talk about a new bakery that is very much similar to Levain. Levain used to be my favourite hangout spot but I guess, it's time for a change.

Yesterday, me and the long-lost Nat "experimented" new pastries at a new bakery. Just so you know, Nat is my food experimenting partner. Whenever we hang out, we will be going somewhere new  and different with good ambience. :) Nat suggested that we go to Tous Les Jours (pronounced as Too-Leh-Joo) which means everyday in French. TLJ is a French inspired Korean bakery that serves wide range of pastries. It is located right opposite H&M and I couldn't believe I didn't notice this  bakery all this while until Nat pointed it out yesterday. Epic fail, much.

When I first walked in, I was like "wahhhhhhh.... Is this a bakery?!", very jakun-ish I know. Personally, I believed that ambience is really important in restaurant experience. Restaurants with good ambience makes me wanna stay in there forever, sit back, have a cuppa macchiato and relax. The interior of Tous Les Jours is pretty amazing and it felt as if I have walked into some five star restaurants.

Like I said, the ambience is pretty good right. It is a two storey bakery with cool interior.

Gruyere Cheese Melt Sandwich. Two simple toast with melted cheese in between and salad as side. Personally, I think that the toast is pretty bland with only melted cheese.

Blueberry Yogurt Cake. *two thumbs up!*

Cream cheese Danish. My favourite pastry of the day! It was crispy on the outside but cheesy from the inside. Will definitely order more of this next time.

de pretty darlin'!

Nothing beats the happy feeling of eating sweet stuff especially cakes and pastries!

Lovin' this outfit from H&M especially the leather pants.

Overall, the ambience and the food is pretty good but the service was slightly disappointed. The staff tend to be confused as the customer line gets thicker. Moreover, the spaces are quite limited so if you are not a patient person like me, it is better for you to go slightly earlier. :)
